Scott was born in Olympia in 1958. The family moved to Seattle when he was a few months old. His father worked at Boeing and his mother was a receptionist at a Seattle Insurance Brokerage firm. After graduating from Queen Anne High School he went on to receive a BA in History from the University of Washington. In 1984 Scott married Pam Wilson, also a native of Washington and a fellow graduate of the UW.
He started his career in the Insurance business working for an agency in Seattle. Scott started in the mail room in 1978. One year later he became an account executive selling commercial insurance until 1987. After a year out of the industry he decided to purchase a training business called Wall’s Training, Inc, located in Bellevue which prepares people to become Insurance Agents and Stockbrokers. It suited him well and after twenty two years he still enjoys teaching. During those twenty plus years, Scott has taught over 35,000 people about Insurance and other financial products preparing them to enter the industry. This training has taken him all over the United States, teaching classes on the basics of Life, Disability, Property and Casualty Insurance preparing people for their careers. In addition to insurance basics, Scott has also taught advanced courses on a variety of financial products and income taxes.
Scott and his wife Pam have called the Bellevue area home for over twenty years, along with their three children, Megan, Lucy and Stuart. Scott has collected coins for most of his life and is an enthusiastic owner of an old Porsche. Scott and Pam like to travel and it seems wherever we go a previous student who has attended one of my classes is encountered. A fond memory is standing at the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin in the early 1990’s when someone said “Scott is that you”…; it is indeed a very small world we live in.
